#amplifiedteaceremony no. 2
40mins 02secs
Performed 4th February 2015
Purpose:
The #amplifiedteaceremony series is an attempt at exploring alternatives to the existing paradigms of producing and consuming audio works. Where usually an audio work is released as identical duplicates of one master copy, #amplifiedteaceremony no. 1 to 5 each contain a one-off and unique live performance without further duplication. Subsequent future works in the series will similarly be one-off, unique numbered and dated releases. Excerpts of each release are provided online for streaming and limited download as a matter of reference.
Primer:

Process:
#amplifiedteaceremony are live performances of improvised soundscapes derived from the gongfu tea set which consists of a tea tray, tea pot, 3 cups, hotplate and kettle. The set is rigged with 4 contact mics and 1 condenser mic channeled to a mixer which in turn sends signal to a looper. The mixer output is recorded on an audio workstation. Each performance is then copied on CD for release.
